Come to Eco Dive Club for the best SSI Dive Courses
SSI - Scuba Schools International
For more than 40 years SSI has provided training, scuba diving certification, and educational resources for divers, dive instructors, dive centers and resorts around the world. Established in 1970, SSI has expanded to include more than 30 Service Centers, is represented in more than 110 countries with over 2.500 international locations and has materials printed in more than 25 languages.
Our aim is to create confident, Eco-friendly, happy divers, and that is more important to us than profit. We give personal attention to every SSI course we conduct here at Eco Dive Club.
Every one of our team of SSI instructors has a proven record of excellence in teaching diving. When we take on a new instructor we're not just looking for their diver training credentials, although, of course, they are very important, we also want our instructors to have empathy, patience, and enthusiasm for their work. In other words, we are all "people people"! And it shows, the minute you walk into the Eco Dive Club you will feel like a member of the Eco Dive club.
You don't need any previous experience to learn to dive in Eco Dive Club. In fact, we can offer the SSI Try Scuba program to anyone over the age of 8 years old, even if you've never once been in the sea!
The SSI Open Water Diver course is the entry-level certification. This certifies you to dive with a buddy anywhere in the world, and it takes three or four days.
For divers who are already certified, we can offer the SSI Advanced Adventurer, or SSI specialties, like the Stress and Rescue specialty, which is also your next step on the way to becoming a diving professional!

SSI Try Scuba
Experience your first dive with the SSI Try Scuba Diving program
Never been diving before? What better place to try than off Maafushi Island Lagoon. The beautiful crystal clear waters, So many little fishes, a perfect place to learn to dive.
During the SSI try scuba diving program you will learn the basics of diving theory before your first dive in the ocean. We keep this informal and relaxed, while still making sure you're fully informed and ready to go diving!
The minimum age for the SSI Try scuba diving program is 8 years old (restricted to 5m maximum depth). The beach dive is perfect for these youngest scuba divers because we see plenty of fish and coral as shallow as 2-3m. At 10 years and older your maximum depth will be 12m, and so we'll be able to visit the deeper parts of the reef.
Are you interested in taking the SSI Open Water course, but not ready to commit to the whole course? You can start off with the SSI try scuba diving program at Eco Dive Club.
We simply walk into the water, with the equipment in place, and you will take your first breaths in water that you can still stand up in. Once you've built up your confidence we will sit on our knees and your instructor will practice few safety exercises in shallow depth after which we can take you out into deeper water to explore the house reef.
Chat with us before you take the plunge, we will put you at your ease!
